Rep. Liz Pike elected to serve as assistant House Republican floor leader
At today’s House Republican Caucus reorganization meeting, 18th Legislative District Rep. Liz Pike was elected by fellow House Republicans to serve as the assistant floor leader. In this leadership role, her duties will include assisting the floor leader in his duties and implementing floor strategies during debate. Each member of the leadership team plays a key role in crafting and moving forward policies supported by the House Republican Caucus.
“It is a great honor to be trusted by my colleagues to serve in such an important role,” said Pike, R-Camas. “Holding this position will give my constituents a greater voice in the legislative process. Not only that, but it will allow me to learn and share the diverse views of what is going on statewide with those I serve in the Eighteenth District. I am prepared to lead and be a voice for good governing in our state.”
Pike was recently elected to serve her first two-year term in the House of Representatives. The 18th District is located in southwest Washington’s Clark County.
The 105-day, 2013 legislative session is scheduled to begin Jan. 14.
