Rep. Liz Pike talks with Lars Larson about resurrected short-line rail jobs bill

Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, talks with KXL’s Lars Larson about the Senate passing a bill that would allow limited development along short-line rail in Clark County.

The bill is a companion measure to Pike’s bill, which had been vetoed by Gov. Jay Inslee because it would have allowed development adjacent to short-line railroads in Clark County and Eastern Washington. Inslee said he vetoed the bill because it would have taken too much land away from agriculture.

The companion measure limits the development to Clark County. Pike has been told the governor would sign the measure if it passes the Legislature.
