About Rep. Liz Pike

Liz Pike was raised on a Brush Prairie dairy farm as one of 13 children. She is a graduate of Battle Ground High School and the Jennifer Dunn Leadership Institute.

Early in her career, she worked for The Reflector Newspaper in Battle Ground. Liz owned and operated an advertising agency for more than 18 years and a retail art gallery for three years. Liz is the founder of the successful Camas First Friday Art Walk. She is also a former Divisional Board Member of Umpqua Bank and a member of the National Rifle Association.

Liz operates Shangri-La Farm, a small sustainable organic farm in Fern Prairie, where she is a beekeeper, and raises fruits, vegetables, heirloom turkeys, chickens and a small flock of Soay sheep. She is a former volunteer co-organizer for the Washougal Farmers’ Market and an avid promoter of the “buy local food” movement. Liz is also a life member of the National Rifle Association.

As an elected member of the Camas City Council from 2003 to 2007, she advocated for lowering taxes and more government efficiency with a strong and consistent voting record of responsible fiscal policy.

Liz was appointed to the Washington House of Representatives in the 18th District in the summer of 2012. She was elected as state representative in November 2012.

In the Legislature. Liz is the assistant ranking Republican on the House Local Government Committee. She also serves on the Labor and Workplace Standards Committee and the House Transportation Committee. Liz has a consistent voting record to advocate for less government, lower taxes and more freedom. She has introduced nearly 50 bills to lower taxes, help small businesses, reform state government and protect the safety of Washington’s citizens.

Liz and her husband, local aviator Neil Cahoon, live on their Fern Prairie farm. She has two grown twin children, Richard and Julianne. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also ran marathons for more than 25 years and is a Hawaii Ironman World Championship Triathlon finisher.

Liz remains a dedicated, hardworking state representative, focusing her passion and energy to serving the citizens of the 18th District.
