Liz Pike begins work as new state representative for 18th Legislative District

Camas Republican encourages constituents to contact her

Liz Pike was sworn in as state representative, position 1, for the 18th Legislative District on August 23. Clark and Cowlitz county commissioners appointed her to finish the term of Ann Rivers, who was appointed to the state Senate after Joe Zarelli stepped down.

“I appreciate the confidence the county commissioners have in me. I look forward to showing my constituents that I'm a hard-working, problem solver. I come to the table with a set of principles, but also a willingness to work with anyone on the problems facing our state,” said Pike, R-Camas. “My constituents can expect the same level of representation and customer service they have received from their Eighteenth District team in the past. I'm here to help them with their dealings with state agencies and be their advocate in the Legislature. I welcome constituent calls, e-mails, letters and visits.”

Pike can be reached at (360) 786-7850, and her e-mail address is liz.pike@leg.wa.gov. Letters can be sent to her Olympia office at: 469 John L. O'Brien Building, P.O. Box 40600, Olympia, WA 98504-0600.

The 18th Legislative District lawmaker will be replaced in December when her successor is chosen in the general election and election results are certified. While Pike currently serves as state representative, position 1, she is running for position 2 in the general election.

Pike has owned and operated Pike Advertising for the past 17 years – her main source of employment. She served on the Camas City Council from 2003 to 2007. Pike is also active in her local agricultural community as a co-organizer of the Washougal Farmers' Market and owner of a small-scale farm. A mother of two grown children, she resides in Camas.

The 2013 legislative session is scheduled to begin January 14.
