Are you tired of sitting in traffic every morning and every evening as you approach the I-5 bridge across the Columbia River between Vancouver and Portland?
Are you tired of hearing politicians regurgitate the same old failed Columbia River Crossing plans that would cost billions of your hard-earned money, but keep you in the same traffic congestion you are fighting now?
Do you believe there should be MORE options to expand capacity and free movement well into the future instead of a single I-5 bridge replacement project?
If so, I wish to personally invite you to my Transportation Solutions Town Hall meeting, this Saturday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m. to noon at the Lecture Hall of the WSU-Vancouver Dengerink Administration Building 110, 14204 NE Salmon Creek Ave., in Vancouver.
I'm bringing out experts in the field of transportation engineering to discuss a FRESH, NEW LOOK to our transportation congestion problem, with FRESH, NEW IDEAS and SOLUTIONS. They include: Linda Figg of Figg Bridge, who has flown in from Florida to provide solutions; Kevin Peterson, a transportation architect and planner based in the Pacific Northwest, who has 35 years' experience on transportation projects throughout the world; lifelong transportation engineer David Nelson; and Clark County business owner Bill Wagner.
We will discuss NEW cross-river solutions, including:
- A new eight-lane West Express bridge/tunnel limited access corridor connecting Vancouver to West Portland;
- A new East County Bridge, east of the Glenn Jackson Bridge, with four new highway lines; and
- A Practical Design Fly-Over Bridge near I-5.
These are NEW, workable ideas that would finally create traffic flow across the Columbia River, ensuring the movement of freight, and giving you more time to be at home with your family instead of stuck in traffic.
